I was in the Army from 2006-2013. I have been deployed twice (Iraq '07-08 and Kuwait '11-12). Most of the pics are from training and Tikrit, Iraq….which is now back in the hands of terrorists…good thing I spent a year there right? I worked in a Combat Support Hospital (CSH) where we took care of Soldiers who had a real bad day (IEDs, gun shot wounds, etc). I saw enough blown off limbs to last a lifetime but that never really got to me. Seeing dead bodies and blood becomes a part of life when you work in a CSH…you just get used to it and go on with your daily routine. The worst part by far was seeing a service dog shot to hell. I'll never forget the sound of that dog whimpering in the ER as they tried to save it. BUT…it wasn't all bad over there and we managed to have a little fun here and there. I started dating Melissa (Mel) who was in the same unit and we have been together ever since. We just got married last month (May 3, 2014) and since I'm out and she is still in for another 5 years I'm officially an Army Husband…
