There are a lot of new Chivers out there so for those of you who don't know Lilli, she's a very special girl with a rare sensory disorder that the Chivers decided to help in a big way. Lilli Wilson has Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS), a disorder which, among other things, causes prolonged 'meltdowns' in which Lilli will try to inflict serious self-injury on herself. We asked the Chivers to donate $17,000 to construct a special room-within-a-room for Lilli (story here). Safe Spaces in the UK would be in charge of customizing Lilli's room. But instead of raising 17K, the Chivers raised $34,000 in under 24 hours. Safe Spaces has sent photos of their amazing crew hard at work making Lilli's safe space. It will be completed in a few weeks and flown to Sault Ste Marie in Canada for installation. Leo and I will be flying to the small town to help in whatever way we can as well as deliver some special presents for Lilli on behalf of all the Chivers. In the meantime, Lilli had her first day of Kindergarden. Her kickass brother Sid is actually in the same classroom with Lilli and keeps a watchful eye on her all day. Lilli's mom Brandi said that Lilli had so much fun she didn't want to leave. The other kids in class have taken a shine to the special girl. Brandi said, "When I picked (Lilli) up, the class was outside. Lilli was playing in the sand with a group of kids! Made me so happy that she was actually playing with other kids, not by herself!! She was so happy."
